Urpify: Built-in to URP Converter for Unity (Free)
A downloadable tool
Urpify Free is a Built-in to URP migration tool for Unity. Scan your project before switching render pipelines, find pink shaders and effects that stop working silently, then compare your scenes before and after.
Unity's Render Pipeline Converter upgrades Unity's own materials. Custom shaders and effects need additional work: a portal may turn into a grey wall, water may lose its foam, or a post effect may stop running without an error. Urpify explains what will break and who can fix it.
Free and open source. Runs inside the Unity Editor. Custom shader and effect conversion is available in Urpify Pro.
Source code and full shader catalogue
- GitHub — free Urpify source code, documentation and releases (MIT license).
- Browse the full shader catalogue — 332 converted shader examples. Search by name and filter by shader type or result; every entry links to its source and license.
The catalogue is a set of tested examples, not a limit on supported files. Scan your own project with Urpify Free to check its shaders and effects.
What the free version does
- Scan your project, a folder, one shader or a .unitypackage. Every shader, script, material, scene and setting that breaks in URP, sorted into “turns pink”, “breaks without an error” and “looks different”, with the reason and who can fix it.
- Switch to URP step by step, with a backup before every step.
- Fix what Unity's converter gets wrong: Standard glass that turns white, Self-Illumin materials, the Editor's built-in materials, Post-processing v2 bloom, URP settings.
- Compare every scene before and after: frames captured in Play Mode, a slider and a difference map.
- Roll back any step, or everything, with one click.
